Did you know different herbs are steeped best in different temperatures?
Here are a few examples from my herb list:
🌿 Ideal Infusion Temperatures
| Herb | Type | Ideal Temp Range | Steep Time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Damiana | Leafy herb | 190–205°F (88–96°C) | 10–15 min | Likes near-boiling water for full flavor and mild stimulation |
| Skullcap | Leafy herb | 180–190°F (82–88°C) | 10–15 min | Too hot can make it bitter; keep just below boil |
| Passionflower | Leafy/vine | 185–195°F (85–90°C) | 10–15 min | Gentle extraction preserves calming compounds |
| Valerian root | Root | 205–212°F (96–100°C) | 10–20 min | Needs hotter water and slightly longer steep |
| Chamomile / Lemon balm | Flower/leaf | 180–190°F (82–88°C) | 5–10 min | Softer herbs — too hot can dull the aroma |
